We query the social platforms directly.
How long do you cache the data for?
The data is cached on CloudFlare’s CDN for up to an hour.
What’s your stack?
The API is a standalone app written in Go, hosted on dedicated servers running Ubuntu 14.04 (and very little else).
We use CloudFlare’s CDN for caching and HAProxy for load-balancing.
The API management, including the rate limiting and creation of API keys, is handled by Tyk (which we’d like to add is an awesome piece of software!).
